Travel: Stay at the Cabin by the Creek

December 01, 2017 in adventure, camping, personal, photography, portrait, travel, hipcamp

Stay Here

Given the initial description and pictures of the listing, we had very little expectations on our accommodations. However, the host was very very good in communicating with us and hyping us up on what we were to expect (when we were told there was a hot tub, our eyes lit up).

The listing is away from any large city and is actually in a quaint little neighborhood near the local waterfall trailhead. It was dark when we arrived, but we were pleasantly greeted by the Christmas lights that welcomed us to the front door. The running creek and a few crickets were the only sounds that we heard, making us feel right at home and away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. It was also a chilly night, but the cabin was nice and cozy. Making and sipping on our hot cocoa only made us wonder what it would be like when we were cozying up on the couch in the wintertime.

The place just emulates the picturesque winter cabins you see in the movies. There are candles everywhere to help you set the mood for a romantic evening, or just relax overall. There is a fridge and a stove for you to keep and cook your food. Everything you need is right there. The jacuzzi was a just the icing on the cake. You have to wait for it to warm up, but it is well worth it to get a nice soak after a long day (or strenuous hike).

Speaking of hike, the creek next to the house runs into the waterfall if you follow it up stream. If you are not looking to hike through the creek, feel free to drive upwards where you can hike about three quarters of a mile in and out.

Overall, the listing is in an amazing spot and is a warm and cozy place to spend some time with a few friends or family. The host made sure we were well taken care of and the cabin had everything we needed to take care of ourselves. We wished we had more time at this listing, but we hope to be back very soon!
