Travel: Stay at Hobbit Cobin

March 01, 2017 in personal, photography, portrait, travel, camping, adventure, hipcamp

I've recently joined Hip Camp as a field scout, and this was my first listing! I had a wonderful stay at the Hobbit Cobin with my boyfriend for a quiet weekend stay-cation. The city of Petaluma was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Coming to the Hobbit Cobin, we did not know what to expect, but upon arriving, we realized how cozy and warm the site was. We got an amazing and informative tour of the property from Miguel (which included tons of farm animals - chickens and goats!) and last but not least, the hobbit cobin. We learned so much about how sustainable housing really works and how it can be such an effective way to build shelters in such a creative way. The site makes great use of the environment and the resources has to offer (firewood stoves for heating, the earth to help build the structures, etc.)

Besides the amazing lodgings, the city of Petaluma is a really great place to explore. The downtown is filled with quaint shops and great restaurants. Lagunitas brewing is also in the area. Definitely find time to explore the small city and grab a quick bite.

Over all, the campground "Hobbit Cobin" and the city of Petaluma made us feel right at home. So at home that we left with lots of smiles and and a half dozen of fresh organic eggs! Until next time, Hobbit Cobin!
