Travel: Stay at Escondidio Rustic Tree House

April 11, 2017 in adventure, camping, personal, photography, portrait, travel, hipcamp

(Review written by Ryan C.)

If you are looking for a romantic getaway from the city that is not a plane ride or a cross country trip away. Look no further than Van & Laurie's Romantic Rustic Tree House.

Van and Laurie's spot in the back country of San Diego really gives you a sense of an alternate way of life, where life is meant to be enjoyed through the amazing things nature has to offer.

The theme of their home can be distilled down to: make do with what nature has to offer. The tree house was amazing. The way the house is built to accommodate the way the tree is growing is beautiful and extremely comfortable. Despite the home built around the tree, the interior is extremely homey and luxurious. The treehouse is a 2 minute walk down the mountain from the main house (where the bathroom, outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower) is located.

Everything you could have wanted, it is provided for you. And on top of that, most of the accommodations, from shampoo to adult beverages are either made by hand on the property or sourced locally.

Van and Laurie made every effort to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything thing we need.

OH! And do take the time to listen to the story behind the property and the way Van and Laurie enjoy all it has to offer (you may be even able to snag a taste of the honey produced on their lands!). A truly fantastic experience :) They will be opening up their "glamping tent" site as well so be sure to check that out!
